It's still ok to use the Intune without the thermostat mod done correct? I know I read that you can control the fan settings.. But maybe that was with the Trinity.. Not sure exactly.
I am holding off replacing the radiator until after the holidays.
I guess my question is not so much if it's ok to use... More of if it is worth doing?
I only ask because using a jet180 seems to be a highly recommended mod across the forum.

It's okay to use the intune without a 180 tstat. Just don't adjust the fan settings at all.
A 180 tstat just opens up at a lower temp = 180 degrees instead of the stock temp... can't remember - is it 210 or something??? Anyways, your car's high and low speed fans are set to kick on around the stock temperature settings for the stock tstat.
So once you install the 180 tstat, you then have the "ability" to run the engine at a cooler temperature since the tstat opens at a lower temp... but it doesn't make much of a difference without a fan. So that's why AFTER you install the 180 tstat, you can then use your InTune to lower the temps at which your fans kick on and take full advantage of the lower temp tstat.
Make sense??
And I'm sure you'll ask... everybody does...
When it's time to lower the fan settings, the InTune will have multiple settings: Low Speed, Medium Speed, High Speed - and it has each of these twice... one with A/C on and one with A/C off.
First, we don't have a Medium Speed fan, so I just set that one the same as the High Speed. Personally, I set
all Low Speed fans to kick on at 185 degrees, and
all Medium and High Speed fans at 195 degrees. Some people set them differently - I've found this is a good setting for me.
