Post Newbi wants 400HP from 300c

Hello all... just bought my 1st 300 and its a C. I really like it. Having had mostly performance cars, and finding myself needing a car,I decided on a 2013 300C with 34,300 miles.

I know it comes with 364 from the factory at the motor, and have read it only dynos at 280, don;t know if true or not does anyone have concrete knowledge?

In any case my quest is to get mine to dyno 400.

Ideas, suggestions,etc?

ALSO... do you all know Mopar offers an unlimited miles/unlimited years extended New Car exclusionary warranty? There are conditions... car must still be less than 4 years old and have less than 48,000 miles. I got mine for $429 down and $109x24mths.

If you want it to dyno 400whp then kiss that warranty goodbye...

Cai, thermostat, Heads, cam, headers, high flows, good exhaust, cam phaser and an excellent tune and you will make 350ish and the car will be a quick car.

If you are set on 400whp from an eagle 5.7 then you may need a little giggle gas too as it's going to be a stretch normally aspirated.

Now... If you have a 13 then the good news is that the eagle should dyno a little healthier than 280rwhp...

Hi Silver, thanks for the reply. Thanks for the advice regarding the warranty... So, is there anything that can be done that won't void the warrantee? (Realizing it won't get to 400, how close would it get)

Also, you mentioned "eagle 5.7"... By the 5.7, I'm guessing you're referring to the engine, but is "eagle" some nickname for HEM

Well honestly it's all relative with the warranty... Due to the Magnuson Moss Act they technically can't 'void' the warranty due to mods, however if they can prove a mod caused a failure they do not have to cover it... so tread lightly there... or buy your service adviser lots of coffee and donuts each visit and hope!

The Eagle is the name for the VVT model of the hemi produced after 09... it has a much better flowing intake manifold and heads and uses variable valve timing. They produce a bit more power than the original hemi but cost a little more to mod when you get inside the block (cam needs a phaser for example)... good motors.

Power is also relative bud... what is your goal for the car? Forget the HP numbers for a sec as they are just for bragging rights... think more acceleration 0-60 or 1/4 mile, stop light warrior or a cruiser with power... it's all about what you will use the car for, will it visit a track? From there your mods can be based to get you the weapon you choose...
