Ive done some research on swapping the engine from my 300 to the 5.7L Hemi, ive found the price of it to be around $12k which i refuse to believe becuase the 6.1L is supposed to be around $14K...Does any one know where i could get one for cheaper? Id love to use a Wedge Crate engine instead, around 500hp for around $5k def more bang for the buck but ive never heard of that kind of swap. Can any one help me with this one? even prices for a swap like that would be great!

You are going to be WAY better off to sell your 300 and buy a "C" if you want the hemi; there is a LOT more to it than just dropping in a different engine:
-Computer / electronics
-Brakes (bigger brakes in front on the "C" - rears are same I think..)
-Transmission - base 300's have a 4 speed auto... not sure about the touring. But even if it's the 5 speed auto it's likely not as 'beefy' as the V8 version.
Plus all the extra creature comforts - - which even if not important to you, it seems silly to spend MORE money converting your current car and end up with LESS. Not saying it can't be done (of course it can) but there are always issues you don't plan on when doing a swap like this and in the best case scenario you WILL end up spending more money going this route.
If you're absolutely determined to go this route I'd find a wrecked "C" to use as a donor; that way you have all the other stuff in addition to just the engine.
Wow looks like a used SRT8 is gonna be my way out. Might as well spend the money for a tuned car and more luxury. I dont know if i could let my 300 go though...
Thanx Grounded, Hemi6.1, kevenj, and Ultimatecarman45 for the helpful info!!

I recently had to replace my blown motor. piston #5 self destructed and therefore destroyed the cylinder wall. Found a motor for roughly 4 grand with a warranty. All in all after the entire swap was done the total damage was 7200 bucks. However, the 300C with the Hemi uses a different transmission and computer. Not as easy as plug and play. As others have said, it would definitely be cheaper to trade into a 300 with a more powerful motor. And the car would already be setup to handle the additional weight of motor, tranny, etc.

From what I read from someone who claims to have done it over on the LX site, the engine apparently is a straight swap and bolts in nicely to the gearbox. They used the original 5.7 PCM but you have to upload predator for it to work with no problems apparently
