Long tube headers coming soon!

I've been told that there should be a long tube header package for the 300C by the end of the head. This should contain headers, highflow cats, required pipes and installation kit. I'll have to get my car on the lift this week to see exactly how things are layed out under there. I can take some pictures if you guys want to take a look also.

Long tubes are generally worth about 25hp on a stock to mildly modified motor. They also work very well to increase torque. Shorty headers are usually worth about 10-12hp. These will bolt up to the stock "Y-pipe" and are a directly replacement for the stock manifolds. I'm going to talk to JBA this week to see if they will be producing headers for the C.

Talking Headers...

Tbyrne, any update on the header system? What type of header is it (equal length?), contruction material (stainless?) and what do they look like? Coatings? Price???

I am really wanting to go full length headers and a borla from the midpipes back!!

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

I talked to JBA today... No 300Cs in their garage yet. So if you're local, they'd love a chance to tinker with yours!

They gave the impression that they were interested in a complete package; headers AND catback. Too early to tell, though.

The package that I mentioned are about 2 months away. I haven't received all of the details yet but know that they will be stainless steel, have a new Y-pipe with highflow cats and come with eveything needed for the install. This is just a rough estimate but I expect pricing to be around $1200. Ceramic coating will also be available.

Any ideas how long they would need a car? Would they compensate with a header/exhaust package? I'm in OC, but SD isn't that far to go.

Jon, i'm not sure... He was excited as hell, but dissapointed when i told him that i don't have a "C" anywhere near him!

Hehehe. I don't know how long he'll need it or the type of compensation, though. Give him a buzz - His number is 800-830-3377.

Sorry, Jon... No contact info other than the 800 number. (i'm just FULL of answers, aren't I?! )

Ayway, I just asked the operator for someone who might be able to provide me with "new product" information.

Again, sorry for the vague, initial post(s). He wasn't in a real talkative mood once he discovered that I could not be a "C" donor, if you know what I mean.

I have some good ties with JBA and will make a call tomorrow to see if I can get something going. Generally if a manufacturer uses someones car to build a product that person will either come away with the product and install for free or the price greatly reduced if it's a big dollar item. You'll just loose your car for a few weeks.
