Mods

Has anyone tried the Jet chip stage 2 on the SRT8? It worked well on the RT that I had but I now have a MSRT8. I want to try one on it with a K&N cai and rear resonators removed. Any info on the jet chip for the MSRT8?
I just like typing and hearing SRT8 MSRT8

Of course, now that Chrysler only offers the 3 year/30K miles warranty, we can do what we want while the car is still "new"!

Still grumbling that they lowered the "free" warranty.

wait... If I get an exhaust I wont void the warranty. The reason I got my 300c was to put an exhaust on it. But I thought since im leasing it i will void the warranty. If this is false I will save and get the exhaust I have been wanting!

An aftermarket exhaust won't do anything to void the warranty. I'd save the stock system to put back on the car when your lease is over if your going to be turning the car in.

There is no one answer, service departments vary greatly. I would say if yours see's a mod and claims it will void your warranty then you probably should look for a different one. I personally dont have any problem with mods, they show enthusiasm for the car which is good for us. Now, poorly done butcher mods will get my attention (most common with stereo hack jobs) but I wont tell anyone their warranty is void. When a car comes in with a problem and I trace it to the mod then I will let the Service Manager know and he makes the call on warranty coverage. Usually just that issue is affected, you will pay for that repair but your warranty will still be intact unless you have done something really crazy. Ive started the paperwork for warranty restriction more for neglect and accident damage, especially submersion damage, I can only remember one for a performance mod. That case was nitrous and he had actually melted the pistons.

I've actually heard of people returning lease vehicles with CAI's and Catbacks on and not having the dealer complain - not sure how accurate this is but maybe somebody else has had a similar experience....

Leases usually have alot of fine print. It would be interesting to hear from others that have done this.

Asked a few questions today when I got it and got some of the same speeches. Although I did get a nod on certain things, I know I am risking any mods I try for

Hey Tom nice to see you on these boards.
