You really won't go wrong with any of the long tube packages. Dynatech, Kooks and Stainless Works all make a very good product. I'd say the Dynatech are the most popular that we carry. This is a complete package that includes everything you need for the install. We've sold hundreds and have installed them on a variety of vehicles. Definately no complains. I have a set sitting in the shop ready to go on my C6 and may also run them on my SRT-8.

Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Now I'm curious

Why would you specify long tube over short tube? I'd be interested in opinions of folks that bought one over the other. I'm leaning towards short tubes because I've read/been told that short tubes give more HP/TQ on the low end, which is where I want it. Educate me!

Long tube headers will make more horsepower/torque than the shorty design but they can sometimes make the low end feel a little softer. You can usually expect about a 10-12hp increase from the shorty design while long tubes are good for about 25hp. These numbers can spread out on heavily modified vehicles. As for low end horsepower, long tube headers can sometimes shift the horsepower curve higher in the RPM range so you don't feel as much in the low end. The "softness" usually happens if you go with tube that are to big. I wouldn't have a problem using any of the long tube header packages that are out. They really help these motors breath!

Another point to mention is that most, if not all long tube headers are not carb certified. Gibson short tube headers are! I have Gibsons and love them. Gas mileage is up 2 - 3 mpg's.

True. Most shorty headers will be 50 state legal. You'll probably never see long tubes legal in CA.

Depending on where you live and the laws in your state, Gibson is the best way to go. If your state dosen't have laws agianst this issue then long tube is fine. I would also say that yes, long tube give greater gains but, under everyday driving conditions, I would say you would need to be a professional driver to feel the difference.
