programmer update

Here some feed back as of today from programmer developers.

Scott,

Please understand that cracking the code is not a problem at all. The engineer who is in charge of the Chrysler group drives a Dodge Hemi Magnum. It all comes down to numbers is all. Trucks sell a lot more than cars do. Dodge trucks sell more than Chrysler cars. Numbers, it is all in the numbers. The 300C has been well received but sales of it fall far short of the truck market. Superchips is planning on a tuner for the Hemi powered cars, 300C, Magnum R/T and the Charger. Most likely will be sometime between the first of the new year and springtime. More than likely closer to springtime.

Al
SuperChips

Scott,

We are in the process of developing Dodge gas products, but I can not at this time what or when these releases may happen. Please watch the DiabloSport website for release information.

Thank you for your patience.

Thank you,
Nick Spinelli

Sounds pretty much like a run-around answer. I mean, MDS hemi's are now moving into the truck market...the non-MDS ones already have some things available...what is taking all their R&D time now?

I would imagine 300C should have tied or passed Mustang Gt sales. At least by the amount of 300's I see on the road compared to mustangs. But yet the after market took off for that car. Alot of $$$ to be made if these guys would just open their eyes.

the real reason...

to crack the code...
you normally only need to get into the one program...
our LX's seem to have 2 program's...
Nice huh?
one to get into the system...
which alot of programmers have done...
but another to get it back out of the system...
and that is where it is crashing...
basically - they don't want us in the engine at any cost...

superchips

per scott at superchips they may have a surprise after the first of the year. But I can't get anything definite out of anybody.

send e-mails, demand is the only thing these guys care about. As more SRT8 owners spend a minute and e-mail these companies they will see we are able and willing to pay them for the software.

Someday....

More song and dance I agree, but it is in the numbers and projected sales if one is released.

For something like changing AF ratios etc, there is big liability if they get it wrong and start blowing up motors.

Logan214 commented on Mustang GT sales vs. 300C sales - regardless of what car has sold more...what you are forgetting here is demographics.
Many 300C enthusiats on this board would buy a programmer - out of 4000 members, let's say (on a good day) 500 of us buy one (myself included).
My bet (being an owner of a highly modified Stang myself) is that there are a whole lot more buyer's of GT Mustangs willing to modify their cars and willing void their warranty than 300C owners overall - especially when it comes something like a programmer.

The hope is with all of the LX cars - 300, Maggie, and Charger - the company's will see some $$ signs and release it, I just hope it is superchips that does it.

Yeah, the fact that the 300 is a luxury car works against us here. The market for people wanting to heavily modify their 300s is a much smaller percent them people that would buy a mustang because they most likely bought it because it's a sports car.

I don't think liability is an issue because it's not their fault if you lean the motor out too far, that would be a liability with ANY programmer for ANY car, not just the 300.

I anxiously await this and will probably wait to do any more mods to my car until this is available. From the factory these cars are tuned very well for the stock setup.. But of course, the people that are willing to drop 4K+ on a supercharger kit would be more then happy to pay an additional $500 or so to squeeze every last bit of performance from their large investment.

Anyways..... Time will tell

Crack the code ?????

It's my understanding that the software is out there for the police package (300-c). Now I do not profess to be Super intelligent as to how to install such software, however, I'm not alone in actively persuing this. The pure professionals related to these issues should obtain the software and give it a go.

Your saying that there is a flash for the cop cars that dealerships can install on regula cars? Which we are to assume would give the regual car the cop limiter, at least?

And I cant think of anything else the cop cars might have that normal cars dont, softwarewise, at least. They are not supposed to make more power than a Daytona or Road and Track package car, nor have a highwer limiter than those.

But, and heres the key, as Magnumfreak discovered. When you hook up the Starscan, you have to enter the VIN of the vehicle your attaching to, and that limits the Starscan options to what is available for that car. And you cant lie to it, becuase the first thing it does is ask the car for tis VIN.
