My Csrt8 With Nx Kit

I finally had it finished. It took about 15 hrs total and cost allmost as much as a blower but I wanted to do something different.

Right now it's jetted for a 50 shot which seems to work fine. I've set the Maximizer to start @ 3000 rpm in first gear and ramp from 80 to 100% from 3000 rpm to 6000 rpm.

2nd, 3rd and 4th gear are all set to spray @ 4000 rpm and ramp up from 80 to 100% from 4000 rpm to 6000 rpm.

Once I get my hands on a wideband I'll jet it for 100 hp and make sure all is good with a/f. I'll probably buy the FJO wideband and plug that into the system as well. It's a pretty good saftey net because you can set up the Maximizer to shut off if the car goes lean. You can also set a delay so it ignores the initial lean spike when the system first sprays.

Do you guys think I should have the buttons in the sunglass holder "beautified" or just leave it as is?

EDIT- The sunglass holder closes to hide the buttons.

Initial NX kit +/- $1200
Maximizer $650
CAI $350
Bottle Holder $125
Misc parts $200
N20 $60
Labor $1500 (had to go to a few different people)
Total $4085.....and I'm sure I forgot some stuff.

Yeah, I guess it's still less expensive than a blower. But I'm not comparing nitrous to blowers, I like them both. I had a blower on my Mustang and wanted to try nitrous on this car.

Nice setup. I think you should mount the buttons in a flip-out panel that you can keep in the center console. Open the console - flip the button panel out - close the console. You would then have them right next to your hand and your shifter (hovering over the cup holders) , but then out of site when you didn't need them.

Or....If you really want to be slick with it, PM me if you're interested in making a steering wheel button the trigger - it's easily done.

Arn't you the Can-Bus dude? What would be REALLY kewl is to have the evic be able to show a/f readings from the wideband and also display bottle pressure. I really hate gauges.

I like your ideas for button placement but after some thought into this project I knew they had to go where they are now. The only people I'm trying to hide this stuff from are valet's. Otherwise, it's all obvious down to the purge in front of the windshield.

BTW- I made an edit that the sunglass holder can be shut (I thought maybe you were under the impression it was open all the time).

I put it on the dyno jetted for 100 hp.

The car made 376 / 370? na

455/490 with the nitrous.

I think the traction control / torque mangement may be messing with it so I'll be visiting GS Motorsports soon.

I ran the car on the street a few times and it felt fine.

a/f was 10-11.0

Hi, IGOTTASRT8 nice setup you have I have the same problem with my setup as well, torque management is killing me. What are you using for a window switch? I am switching mine out on wed, putting a MSD window switch and a ZEX programable TPS in.

The hope is that we can "trick" the torque managment system, I have no idea how it is supposed to work but the minds that be have put together something that they think will allow running shots in the 100's without the problem of torque mangagement. If it works I will let you know and maybe you can go along the same route if you find something out before I do can you let me know.

Thanks and again nice setup, you put the rear license plate cover on by any chance that came with the NX kit

Have a good one

Justin

I'm using the Nitrous Express Maximizer 2 as a window switch / progressive controller.

I plan on installing the GS Motorsports esp / torque management / fan mod to get rid of the torque mangement.
