DUB air filters

Hi All,

I'm from Australia and am taking delivery of my 300C in Jan. I'm looking for a proven performance air filter. I've read some info on the DUB air unit (picture below) and how it out performed all comers at SEMA. Does anyone have any advice re this unit or any other dyno proven filters?
How does the Volant unit stack up?
All guidance welcome.

Thanks

That DUB intake set-up is exactly like the K&N Typhoon, execpt the DUB one you
have shown is chromed with red silicone pieces, and a chromed box.

The K&N Typhoon is not chromed, the silicone pieces are black, and the box is black.

Otherwise, they are just about identical. Oh, except you are going to pay about
twice as much for the DUB because its chromed.

Either way, neither does much for adding horsepower, as proven by the tests done
on our sister website. Do a search, and you will find the dyno sheets proving that
most aftermarket intakes actually LOWERED the horsepower of the car!

The K&N was the only one to actually add any power. And it was no more than
about 3 horsepower at most. So, your expensive, shiney DUB version should net you
about that much, but cost more.

Here is our sister website, with the dyno results:

ive always thought intakes were purely cosmetic, in that case go with which one you think looks better. if you are going to do other engine mods then the intake will add hp later on for example with an exhaust and computer chip, etc

Thanks CJ7VFR

I had my suspicsions regarding any real world improvement to power. Can I assume that your not using an after market intake on yours?
I'll check out those dyno tests

Thanks again

I'm considering an exhaust soon after purchase so maybe I'll wait on the intake.
Thanks

I actually bought a K&N Typhoon just before the intake face-off was done. I kept
it in the box, and did not put it on the car, because I wanted to see which one
would make the best horsepower.

Well, none made any horsepower gains that justified the time to put the thing on
my car, and it still sits in the box to this day.

I bought it at a really low price from HHP, one of our vendors.

I was just as surprised as everyone else when the dyno results from the intakes
came in! At least my money was spent on the only one that did not make the car
loose power!!

I may put it on some day, just to get the sound out of it. Thats about all its good
for. An increase in intake noise.

I like the look of it too, so I may put it on once the warmer weather comes along.

I have the Magnaflow cat-back exhaust on my 300C now, and I really like the sound
of it. The Hemi now sounds like it should. Nice and deep.

Maybe if I add the intake along with the exhaust, it might make a slight increase
in horsepower over the stock intake, but I doubt it. Like I said, its really only good
for the looks and sound it makes.

You will notice much better throttle response and that mean sound at WOT.
