Hey, where the guy with the SRT-8 to 5.7 flash?

Ive been searching all morning, cant find it. As I recall, his local tuner shop promised him they could get their hands on the SRT engine flash, and a local delaership tech had called someone up, who said that this should work fine.

I cant recall him posting a followup . Anyone?

starscan is blocking the upgrade because it sees the VIN number and knows that this is a 5.7 car and not the srt-8. It actually says compatibility error. I will be working on it this weekend to see if I can trick the computer into sending the file.

MF? It wasnt you I was thinking of, unless you got involved afterward. This guy had gotten some work done by his local hotrod shop, who, shocker, discoverd that modding this motor aint easy.

They then teamed up with a buddy who wrenched at the local dealeship, who supposedly called a pal whos an engineer for DCX. This guy assured them that the Starscan could load SRT-8 files to a 5.7 with no problems.

Not a peep since. I was wondering what happened to him. Check your PMs shortly.

Yeah, I got involved afterwards. Once they realized that the starscan won't just send a file because they wanted it to. LOL! We modified a few things in the files but starscan decided in this case to look at the cars vin. Got a few more tests to do but there is definitely a workaround for this one also.

In the meantime since that is not holding up anything else it has gone to the back burner while all the parts we need come in. In the next few weeks we are going to try again and see what happens using some new ideas, and what ever MF comes up with as well.

Have a great day
