Wink esp turn off with new FP update

Just read at charger forums that you can turn esp off totally with the new FP update by pressing the switch for about 10 seconds, just like the SRT-8...Did anyone try it yet?

You can turn it off even without the FP update... the 300C's allow you to press and hold the button after you turn on the car.. you have to press and hold the ESP button before 6 seconds elapse after turning on your car...

You will hear a "chime" when you can let go of the ESP button....

Dont know if it works on the 05's but I would imagine that its dependant on the software version and not an 05 vs 06 issue....

I have version 4.xxxxx flash on my vehicle and it works...

If you allow 6 seconds to pass after you turn on your car you can press and hold the ESP button all you like and it wont disable it.. must be done within that 6 second window...

While you can technically disable it on the later production cars it's a bit misleading. Your instrument panel may indicate disabled but it's not %100 out of the loop. Unless something has changed recently the GSM mod is the only method to do that.

Chime, but the sequence is specific for me to get it:

1. Turn key On (don't start engine)
2. Within 5 secs (or so) push and hold the ESP button for 5 seconds (was 7 until the V1.01 FP update...) Indicator light on dash lights.
3. Chime.
4. Start engine without turning the key OFF
5. Chime again. Indicator light on Dash still lit.

To me it is WAY obvious that the Torque Management is either defeated or severely limited in this mode.

At no time do I see anything on my EVIC.

I haven't done any mods yet to my 300C AWD & can confirm that holding the ESP button down for at least 5 seconds after starting the car definitely turns the whole system off. I read the post earlier tonight then tried it while leaving work. I gunned it out of the parking lot and my car did a 180. Never stood a chance of doing that before.
