Traction Control

Of course the traction control is so that we don't smoke off the brand new 22" sneakers on our charriets. When you shut it off it still stay's on appx. 20%. You can take off and start to smoke the tires but then it activates a little and put's a stop to all the fun just like our parent's use to do. Will a chip mod fix this or does anyone have a recomendation for this. Thank in advance, Kinga

not here

Mine only interferes if you get WAY sideways. Otherwise there do not seem to be any limitations on burnouts!

You can disable ESP in a 300C by pressing and holding your ESP OFF button *IMMEDIATLY within 5 seconds* of turning on your car.... after a pretty long press down the car will "chime" when you can release the button.. usually 5-10 seconds....

mine..

I can depress the ESP button any time to disable it- I get an icon on the dash that looks like a car sliding around curvy roads.. Why is mine different from you guys in activating/deactivating this? I don't have to follow any timed process.

Everyone can just press ESP and get the car sliding icon. Problems is, ESP isn't actually disabled, just limited. Traction control will still kick in if you get way to squirrelly. We are talking about disabling it completely. SRT8's can disable it by holding the ESP button down for a few seconds.

We are try'in to duplicate this on our C's

It worked!

I tried it. Started the car up and immediately pushed traction button down and held until I herd the chime, put it in drive and nailed it!

Spun thru 1st and 2nd until I let off.(was running out of space).

It was at least about 25 ft. Done at a vacant parking lot, tar like pavement.
Not rock like asphalt.
Night 65 temp.

mamma is always on

no factory button in any 300 completely disables your ESP. Newer build
SRT8's can merely push it even further out, but Mamma is always on.

Pull fuse 17 to completely disable the system, if you dare!

From what I have seen and read on some sites, disabling the ESP does NOT make for better 1/4 mile times. In the big scope of things, Id rather have the ESP pull out some power, or apply the brakes, while still accelerating as opposed to smoking the tires.
