Vollant CAI and Clear Sidemarkers Installed

Well, since I had to have the 300 up on ramps for the CAI install, I figured I better install the clear side markers also!

The markers were a piece of cake with the bottom Fascia removed (it was a simple task of pulling a dozen screws/clips out. Nice and simple removal and reinstall.

The CAI was a bit more work. The stock components came out easily. However, the lower tube for the cold air draw was a bit of a pain. It was a matter of manipulating the rubber sleeves, ring clamps and brackets to make it all come together in the right place. I did have to drill a hole in the metal bracket to make it fit where the cold air draw tube was located.

I drilled a number of 2" holes through my vent cover where the hose is located. I didn't want to remove the vent covers completely. I may add mesh to help cover the intake inlett.

The upper CAI work was a piece of cake. Between VVV's description of pulling the O2 sensor and the visual images on another site, there was no surprises.

Oh yeah, she really growls now between the Vollant CAI, Super chip tuner, and Magnaflow exhaust system. It's basically a beast!

Cheers,

Scott

Good looking mods so far. Looks like you're about ready for some long tube headers, ported heads and a couple new cams...then you can be running with the big dogs...the SRT8's that is.

HAHAHA! Nice!!! I knew the temptation was too much... get on that SuperChips install and you won't wanna go fishing now! When you pulled the bottom panel, did you have buy any new replacement clips or were they all screws and reuseables?

Hey Happy,

I already installed the Flashpaq tuner (like the first day I had it!).

I got a NEW 300 Today!!! :D

But I waited for a free evening to work on the CAI and clear side markers. The front Fascia was a snap to take off and all the screws and clips were reusable (thankfully!).

The car sounds (and acts?) so much different than when it was stock (between the CAI and the Magnaflow Exhaust system). I’d like to drive a stock car to see the real difference.

My wife said the other day, “I guess we don’t have a luxury car any more.”

I replied, “Honey, the fact is that we NOW have a FAST luxury car!”

Its’ time to sit back and smell the roses a bit. No more mods for me in the short run. I need to relearn the car and it’s sound. I’m LOVE’IN it!

Scott
