Question HP Gain

Hi there,

I've just completed the first stage of performance modifications on my 5.7 300c:

- DUB CAI
- Zoomers cut-backs
- Flashpaq tuner

Any of you guys have the same combo installed?

Also, does anyone know (or can make a close guess) what is the total HP gain whit this combo (if any)?

Thanks in advance

Well, I have almost the same set up. Only difference is that I have the K&N drop in filter with the Zoomers cat-back and FlashPaq. I dont know what the horse power increase is, but I did notice a huge difference. Especially with the FlashPaq. However, I know I lost power when I bought the wheels, so I'm probably just back to stock with my performance upgrades.

Well if VVV's 300 can get 43RWHP gain from stealth bulbs, then the sky's the limit!

Seriously, I have a Volant CAI, Flashpaq tuner (performance setting), and Magnaflow cat-backs and wonder how much HP if any are gained.

It feels more powerful, but how much of that is sound/rumble and how much is actual HP.

I have been wondering the same thing as I have done my upgrades...how much HP have I added and how reliable is the manufactures claims? Unfortunately I do not have access to a Dyno so my only yardstick has been increase in top speed and my 1/4 mile times...both having their own unknown variables.

If I were to guess, and it is only a guess, until you complete the combination of CIA, ported heads, headers, free flow exhaust you will not see the maximum (manufactures claims) benefit from each of your independent upgrades. Because you have only done the CAI and free flow exhaust I would guess that you got 5 hp out of your CAI, 5 hp out of your Zooms, and 5-10 hp out of your Flashback if you are using 91 octane fuel. If and when you upgrade to headers and/or ported heads you could more that double your CAI and Zoomer hp gains because you will have eliminated the bottleneck.

I hope that helps...

I got the Volent intake and Borla exhaust. I'd be lucky if I got 5 hp from the mods.

Still have a significant bottleneck in the form of headers and cats. Open those up, and let the HP flow

Thanks Deep Lava,

That’s exactly what my friends have told me.

I will eventually go with long headers, but the thing is that they are the heaviest mod on the market which makes them very expensive to ship to Europe (for example shipping for Zoomers cut back was $ 750 + 1% customs + 18% vat)

However, I'll do it as soon as refill my Modifications Fund (provided that my wife does not file for a divorce as a consequence).

Any suggestions on specific parts I could use to eliminate the bottleneck?

Thanks,
I.

I think that there must be at least some gain in power.

If nothing else, the torque has improved, as I'm sure that there's more of a wheel-spin than before. I have experienced the same effect with my previous cars (all of them turbo-diesels so I know chip tuning did some difference in HP and torque).

Than again, it could just be because of the changes that flashpaq did to transmission settings.

I.
