Well today I pulled up next to a black 4.0 type S Jag. at a light. The light turned green and he squealed his tires and we were on. Not much of a contest, I beat him easily. What FUN!

I used to run a lot of pro rallying - and it is true - rally cars like the Evo and Sti are quick - providing you can launch out at 4000 RPM without bogging or burning out the clutch and staying in a straight line.

When it comes to "streetdragging" it's the torque that counts. There is no substitute for cubic inches. Not only does the C have 390 ftlbs, it is delivered through a sweet transmission onto a multilink independent rear end that really gets the power to the pavement. There are only a handful of factory spec cars out there that can keep up during the first 8 seconds.

I can't think of any mass produced 4 door family sedans that even come close. Anyone else know of one?

The C sure is a lot of fun at the lights (smoked a bimmer 5 today) .

not to bring up the Harley thing again... but i currently own a 2002 Harley Davidson Truck... i havent done a single thing to it... and have never raced a 300c... but i can say that it is no slow poke, and i know no one said it was... but it hauls for that big truck!

but i will say this and some might not agree... BUT a decent driver will run a 13.8 all day with the lightning... and a guy over at fordtruckworld got his L to run a 13.5 all bone stock... and with a pulley and boost upgrade your in the 12's... and right now theres nuthing the hemi can really do to get into the 12's... but when they come out with a SC then it will be a close call...

EDIT: not to mention the 03 Cobra... which i know that no hemi has beat this car... lighter more power and more torqe... very sweet car.

Marcus

Marcus, are you sure you are in the right forum? If you want to compare trucks, match up against the Ram SRT-10.

I asked about mass produced, 4 door family sedans. Right now, the C is at the top of the food chain.

Next year . . . who knows?

im preety sure im in the right spot... im just responding to other peoples posts, and speaking for my strong ford back round...

and your right the 300c is at the top of the food chain with power and overall car... which is why i am considering getting rid of my 02 Harley to get this car because i love it all around...not trying to cause trouble just trying to make a point...

Marcus, fair is fair but to say that no Hemi has taken an 03 cobra is kind of an odd add in. I wonder why you would choose that car to compare with the C. The Cobra is well to be honest a drag strip special. There is no way these two cars would ever end up in a comparison test together.

your right... but neither is a car and a truck... no reason to compare a car and a truck... every car has there own specailty... and well the 300c i guess is is all around special... and so right now its the nicest in my opionin in every sedan...

Back on thread (Report a 300C victim):
2000 Ford SVT Lightning - white, with "Blown" sticker - on GW Parkway.
Boy was that son of a gun "mad as hell".
Didnt like that I passed him at light.
BLows by me once road opens up and nearly side-swipes me; then sits and waits up ahead.
Needless to say, he got the full treatment - no prisoners.
One sorry sack after that.
Frankly, I didnt think the car had it in her.
Whew!
