I do not know how many supercharged engines have blown due to poor tuning, but I do know that there is due diligence required when using this mod. I have owned and still own many high performance cars. Some of them are barely streetable and require care that would frighten most folks. Still, I choose these cars over the vanilla flavors offered at the dealer because I can.
I keep a low profile and try to stay out of the BBS stream, but I had to come out today to shed a little light on what supercharging is and is not.
Supercharging is:
1. A power adder that must be matched to the strength of the motor, much like a turbo, nitrous, or high compression options. For most applications, 5 to 6 pounds of boost is very safe.
2. A power adder that requires tuning based on elevation, saturation, intended use, etc, etc...I.E. Tune for track and tune for street.
3. A torque lovers dream. I enjoy leaving rubber on a 60 roll.
A supercharger is not:
1. A toy.
2. Cheap.
3. For everyone.
4. The only performance option that GS offers.
Humble Regards......
im assuming your talking to me because 1 my name 2 the blown engine statment.if not im sorry.but if you are do you work for gms because that question was for them.and as far as your statments of what a and who for those are things that should be told to the guy buying the product BEFOR he makes his decision to buy.if someone with out your extencive experience is buying this kit a list of can and cants should be included. like dont drive in a pudle this car kit was made for dry roads only.a guy like you might still buy this kit but i think the :common man " would pass and gms wouldn't sell very many s/c kits

well said Michael,
size matter - i have several supercars in my collection - some of which are modified also, whether it be the exterior or the engine, all my cars are very well taken care of.
I knew what i was getting into, i wanted a little bit of extra power, i spoke to GSM several times asking all the quesions, the car was not going to be driven everyday, infact mayb once in a blue moon, more for my collection, the power that the basic kit was giving should not make any real strain difference on the big 6.1 hemi engine - to be honest i give up arguing, i know what happened to the engine (mechanics have gone through everything) i know what GSM said ( Scott did not speak to me and i was not happy - he actually brished me off to someone else)
Poor business - good quality kit - poor design and poor bloody attitude.
good luck with business GSM,
Im through.
regards
Guy

Ok, I know one owner drove through a lake, another added some mods after the SC was installed, another was eating a tuna sandwhich while driving over the speed limit, and one was listening to the Howard Stern program at full volume, but what about the other 11??
