Keep your eyes open on this forum. When someone comes out with a supercharger that does not blow up the 5.7L, I am sure it will be all over this forum.

For right now, stay away from the current superchargers on the market. They all tend to have the same basic flaw (using auxillary injectors).

If you do some searches in this forum you will find many explanations and horror stories as to why these superchargers do not work on our hemi's.

BE CAREFUL!!!!!

A better way to go for that extra power, right now, is Heads & Cam or nitrous.

So does the GSM "Big Boost" supercharger with the Novi 1500 head. Still blows up the hemi .....

I personally do not have any experience with the Arizona Speed & Marine Supercharger, I am only saying: Beware!

Search through the threads of this forum before you throw $5k to $6k into a supercharger and end up blowing your engine.

For example, check out this thread:

GSM Problems (formerly 'Thank you GSmotorsports')

I called Arizona Speed and Marine and they have control over 8 larger injectors in their 5.7 kit. They read the boost levels via a 2 bar MAP system. "Spark and fuel management system consists of a preprogrammed, plug and play ECU that works with the factory installed ECU to maintain all the manufactures emission and sensor controls."

ASM 5.7 Hemi Aftercooled Supercharger System

I asked him about a 6.1 system and he said he was in the process of putting one together for a customer but was going to limit the boost levels to 5 psi or so because of the 6.1's higher compression.

All in all I was very impressed by his (Jims) knowledge of the 5.7 / 6.1 engine.

He mentioned that the 5.7 intake has some kind of restriction (he went into detail but I forgot the specifics) in it that could really hamper the ability of fuel (or nitrous) to distribute evenly throughout the intake, thus making the larger injectors (or direct port for nitrous) the way to go.

He said the 6.1 intake does not have the same restriction.

Hey, Igotta. I have tried to contact ASM via email regarding their fuel system. I have a 6.1 and want to know if their ECU is suitable for the 6.1 and if it can be bought seperately? I have not heard back from them and i have tried a couple of times. I have a competitors S/C fitted but would dearly love the ability to utilise the port injectors for additional fuel rather than the external ones. Maybe you could make some enquiries if you know them.

Like these guys said, I'd hold off on the supercharger and maybe check out the turbos or think about putting it on the bottle for now. If there was a good supercharger out that wouldn't blow up your HEMI that would be the first thing I'd want. Since turbos are new I'm looking at Nitrious now.
