SRT8 - Is the gearbox a NAG1 or RLE?

I want my dealer to fit a front park assit to my SRT8 and he asked if the gearbox fitted to my car is a NAG1 or RLE. Does anyone out there know the answer this this question?

Thanks and hoping,
Rodders

Hello Rodders,

This is Brian Carotenuto. The NAG1 is used in the SRT-8 (The NAG1 is the 5 speed autostick, and is also used in the "C". The 42RLE is a 4 speed automatic with OD that is used on the Base, Limited, and Touring models. I believe that DCX is starting to use the NAG1 in some of the V6 models with certain packages (ie: The Touring Signature Series)
The NAG1 is a MB designed transmission (AKA WA5A580), whereas the 42RLE is a Chrysler designed transmission based off of the Ultradrive 606 front wheel drive transaxle.

I hope this information helps.

Sincerely yours,

Brian T. Carotenuto

Your DEALER asked you this? FIND ANOTHER DEALER FOR SERVICE WORK IMMEDIATELY !!!

It's bad enough they didn't know, but he also could have pulled it up in his computer from your VIN.
