Borla feedback? SRT8

My dealer will install a Borla cat back exhaust. I am considering it because they say it will not void the warranty and I'll get it installed at cost.

What has your experience been with the Borla system? How is the sound and performance? Should I look at something else like Magna, etc?

At the SRT:TE at Laguna Seca they had a 300 with the Mopar/Borla setup. It sounded good, but I'm not clear that it sounds any better than the stock setup with the resonators removed.

I didn't have a chance to drive the car enough to know if it doesn't buzz/drone at certain rpm. (Removing the resonators causes a very slight issue at a couple of settings) If it totally didn't resonate anywhere, I might consider it...otherwise, broadly, I think it's a lot of money for very little gain.

Corsa Mopar is what you should put on the SRT8!

I have the 5.7 with Mopar Headers & FF cats + the Borla (less agressive) cat back system. Since I bought mine they came out with a more aggresive system also. So there is a choice of two.

I love it. It is almost as quiet as stock at an idle and when cruising on the highway. I experience no droning on the highway. It sounds AWESOME under heavy acceleration.

If you want your car to have a loud rumble when driving through a parking lot, this is NOT the system for you.

But if you want something that sounds great when you get on it, doesn't experience droning, and is pretty tame at Idle & highway cruising, Borla all the way!

If I had to do it again I would definately choose the Borla system. I am not so sure about the Mopar headers. I haven't had any problems with them but after reading posts from this forum, if I had to choose again, I would possibly choose another header that would produce more horsepower. Again, no complaints with the Mopar headers, just read posts that make claims that other headers would give more bang for the buck.

One more thing, my headers & cat back system really "woke up" when I just recently installed my DUB CAI. Make sure your car can breathe well up front to take full advantage of the rest of the system!

Hello,

Welcome Paul Z....Borla designs their systems to have as little interior drone as possible. The main difference overall between the Magnaflow and the Borla (140139) is the M/F is much more noticeable at idle and at freeways speeds. Another member mentioned the Corsa. This too is a quality system however when stacked against the Borla or M/F it is much less aggressive and almost quiet at idle and at freeway speeds.

We carry all 3, plus several other exhaust lines. PM me if you are interested and we can get you 300c member pricing.

Thanks in advance,

John
