Exhaust Guidance afetr the fact???

I had my guy change out my SRT8 300 exhaust to borla mufflers and new pipes and tips. He left the stock X pipe. The exhaust is way loud inside, rattle(vibration) throughout the car at certain rpm, and seemed to have reduced power. I have searched the forumns and they are many people that are using similar systems. It sounds great when jumping on it, but way to loud to use the Bluetooth and comfortably cruising.

I would love your suggestions. The installer is talking about putting in noise retrictors and such, but I am thinking that it would be no better than stock at that point.

Please help.....

That is called drone!
Corsa!!!! No Drone.
Corsa sounds nice and quit when cruising and awesome with WOT, No drone!
I think if you add a x-pipe or a 2nd x-pipe that it will eliminate some of your drone sound.
Good luck
Gary

I heard the Zoomers were louder than the Borla.

The guys that recommend the CORSA. Is it worth enough at this point to scrap the borla's and switch?

You need to see the exhaust and then hear it. many people with it so go see one before buying, zoomers are amazing and the fully polished system looks unreal.

But dont listen to anyone, go see it for yourself.

You can always sell the other system used.

You own a SRT8 so dont hold back.

Did your guys replace the piping for the borlas with the correct diameter
of pipe?

If you lost power, it sounds like they put on 2.5 inch pipe instead of at
least putting on 2.75 or 3.0 inch like most of the cat-backs offer.

If you have a vibration, then you can check to see if your guys cleared
the crossmember bracket under the car. This bracket is black, and its
located near the stock x-pipe.

If they did not push up on the exhaust when they were torqueing it, then
the pipes will come in contact with the crossmember bracket, and cause
a nice vibration.

Jim

I love my Zoomers on my 3CSRT.

Like mentioned already, the complete exhaust is polished and looks really great, from the back.

I have had more people stop me to ask who makes that exhuast and they could see it from far back, all shiny.

I haven't had that problem on my 300C but I just wanted to give you a little support. I love my Borla cat back system. It's tame at idle and at highway cruising speed with NO Drone. & It sounds great when I get on it. For my needs, I wouldn't trade it for anything.
