Why I love my Superchips Flashpak

So, the wife let me open a gift early this year (about 4 days ago) and I happened to choose the SC Tuner. After reading the lack luster instructions, I decided it was time to take it out and test it.

First things first, having had 6 vehicles that I have purchased tuners for (from pickups to Euro etc...) I have to say, this is the worst interface I have ever seen. So, I immediately was worried.

Got her installed, took her out to play, using the the 87 octane tune and playing with some of the settings, it seemed like the car was a little snappier, but not a great improvement.

Then Meister suggested I unplug the battery, not pull the fuse 11, but do a complete disconnect. I did, and after about 10 minutes, I went and reconnected... I NOW HAVE A NEW CAR.

I immediately noticed a shift improvement, and my autostick is now the sickest, sweetest thing going...

Since I run 92 octane all the time, I decided to up the ante. I installed the 91 octane tune, disconnected the battery, reconnected and this puppy hauls...

My 22 inch tires never used to come loose on a dry day from a stop, now, I make smoke like there is no tomorrow. That little bit of power gain and the shifting improvement is plenty of reason to give this things a shot.

Tomorrow, the lower temp TStat goes in...

FYI: Other mods for my car include only a Air Raid CAI and cut the two rear resos off the exhaust. So, there is plenty more there and will be coming soon!

Isn't it grand! You may as well take the Jet Stage 11 chip off your wish list. You don't want to stack them. The flashpaq is all you need .

Yeah, the interface is like working with a 1964 Mainframe computer. Not so modern!

I treated myself to the Flashpaq a couple of months after purchasing my C and have no regrets. I just hate that I have to reset it to factory when heading to the dealership for any kind of service!

does the flashpaq void warrenty service on the car? I really want to pick one up I am just worried that It would void my warrenty, expecially the the deal I go to......right now they are telling me that the reason my window doesn;t go up automatically is because I have a aftermarket deck in my car even though it has been this way since day one, its actually in the dealer right now becasue I took it back for the window. this will be my 6 time bringing it in to them.

thanks,
Ben

That's debateable but you always want to remove the flashpaq tune prior to bringing it in to the dealer (it takes less than 5 minutes). By removing the tune they won't even know you have the flashpaq but even if you were not under warranty, you should still remove the flashpaq. Why? The dealer may update your PCM as a courtesy. If they do this & you left the flashpaq tune on, you will no longer be able to use the flashpaq. You would then have to send it back to superchips to "un lock it".

The flashpaq is designed to use on one car at a time. If you leave the tune on and the dealer does a courtesy flash, the flashpaq will think you are trying to use it on another vehicle because of the new PCM# as a result of the dealer courtesy flash.

So go pick one up and have a Happy New Year!!!!!!!!
