Dynatech long tube headers installed!

This weekend I installed my Dynatech longtube headers. This was done with a jack, jack stands and lying on my back. I have a srt8 and not sure if this stands for the 300c guys but the upper front bolts on the passenger side are almost impossible to get your hands to. That alone took a hour to get in, ONE BOLT!!!!! A note for self installation --- The starter has to be removed (not in the instructions!) to get to the upper bolts on the passenger side ---. Once I got the factory headers off and the dynatechs on. I thought it would be smooth sailing. NO NO NO NO. I installed the corsa cat-back exhaust last weekend and for some reason I can't get the pipe that connects the resonator and muffler to fully clear the drive shafter (1/4 of clearance is not enough) and that pipe is basically sitting on the trunk bottom. Since all the hard work is done (believe me when I say hard) I will take it to a exhaust shop for ajustments. I had enough of jacking up my car and attempting to adjust these pipes. It took me about 8hrs total for the de- and install.

Now lets get to the performance . The cat-back already made the car into a different animal. It gave the car a very deep tone at idle and a very loud bark at WOT. With the headers in the picture its a totally different sound. When I tell this thing barks believe me!!!! The best thing I can compare the sound to is thunder. What makes this setup so perfect (for me) is that when your cruising its quiet and thats exactly what I was looking for. Something that I can live with day in and out.

Congrats on the headers... did you happen to snap some pics while you were under there? Plan on going to a dyno to see what you're putting to the road now?

Thanks man, I didnt get a chance to take pics because I was trying to get it finished (it took so dag long). But, I do have video and pics of some other foreign thing that was under my hood. I will post another thread about it. You should get a very good laugh about this one, TRUST ME!

I will get it dynoed after the new year. After I take it to the exhaust shop to get the pipes adjusted.

WAY TO GO WILL!!!

I so want to do this... Dynatech long-tubes, Corsas.

When you get everything together the way you want, please take a video with sound so those of us who are running stock pipes can dream.

Thumbs up

Great write-up! The Corsa factory guys told me the sound would change with the long tubes on.

Let the Days of Thunder roll on!
