Corsa Installed!

The mods continue...

Installed the Corsa exhaust today. First, some pics of the stock system:

Stock System Removed & On The Ground

Kinda Clunky, Uh? Look at that resonator and central muffler. What were they thinking???

New mufflers installed.

Love that crossover pipe!

A picture of the new tips from the rear

Finally, if someone really wondered if it was truly a Corsa product

I'm very pleased with the sound. Car sounds good when you push the Loud Pedal but it's not raucous. It's very refined at idle and cruising speeds. No drone! Gotta love that.

More mods to come. Still waiting on the TIS wheels and the Superchips Flashpaq, BT items have been shipped and will be here soon, Lik2rac is sending me an engine cover and 22 Elite just confirmed my order for an embroidered console cover.

I'm researching LED tails, HID's and suspension. Who knows...someone may come up with a new product in a few days that I can't live without!

That's it for now. Drive Safe and Keep Modding!

Looks awesome!
Make sure you installed the 2 tunnel mufflers with the small drain hole pointing down!
If not you will get to much water in your mufflers and they will sound awefull!
I found out the hard way!
They have updated instructions now but you might have the old one.
Also make sure you installed the clamps 90 degree from the 2 slots cut in to the pipes and re torque after couple days ( 45 pounds)
Good luck
Gary

I must have gotten the most recent version of the instructions then!

The drainholes are to the rear and pointing down. Clamps were positioned at a right angle to the slots. The instructions didn't mention re-torquing (or I missed it) but I had planned on doing this having learned a one-time torque is not enough on various fastened pieces over the years on quite a few vehicles (headers, wheels, heads, etc...)

I appreciate you looking out for me, greedyk. Thanks!!!

Maddog...Nice job. That really brings back memories. Especially the carnage in front of the garage. I predict that you will be spending two or three tank fulls this weekend just to listen to your new sound.

i think that is the cleanest exhaust i've seen for our cars. Im not a huge fan of the grapefruit size exhaust tips, those are very similar to stock, and i like the mufflers' appearance as well. What did that set you back?

Hey MidnightSun...yer right. I found myself using the AutoStick quite a bit on the burn in run out in the country. Up/Down, Up/Down...I thought these efficient exhaust systems were supposed to improve your fuel efficiency!!! lololol...Actually, I don't care what mileage I get...I just enjoy driving and now this new sound is music to my ears.

Hiya williamspeaking...It was a very easy install. The most effort was just to get the stock system off the hangers and cutting through the passenger side tailpipe as it does not unbolt like the driver's side. It's a well thought out kit, fits well and is a clean install. I like the tips...they are just a bit bigger than stock so fill out the rear fascia holes a bit but don't look too "ricer". I can't quote you a price but I can tell you who had the best price on the system when I made the decision...socalmotorsports.com...a supporting vendor here. John Dechane is a great guy to deal with and his prices can't be beat. Check out their website.

Will!!! How ya doin', bud? Thanks for the kudos...I'm enjoying it already! Or, as you said, F'n-A!!!!

Car feels a bit more responsive and seems to wind up towards redline a bit faster...maybe that's my imagination. But, more air in (Volant CAI) + more air out (Corsa) = Efficient air flow so the motor doesn't work as hard to scavenge/push out the exhaust gases. Besides, it just seems the Go Pedal works better, ya know?

I think my radio buttons are going to gather some dust for a while as I won't be touching them, preferring to listen to the pipes vs. the tunes. hehehehe...

Nice to hear from you, HemiGPaw. I know what you mean about laying on the ground with a vehicle up on jackstands putting in exhaust and other fun tasks...that concrete gets dang cold! I appreciate the tip on my HID research. I'll be sure the check them out.

Thanks, All. If you haven't done an exhaust yet, consider this one unless you don't care you can't hear the radio, your passengers or if you like resonance drone!

Maddog that is sweet! That is one cool mod there! It is on my wish list...ummm PD doesn't know that so don't anyone tell okay!
I don't know alot about exhaust systems but learning...this is what I know about them...
They look cool and sound great...Is there anything else I need to know?
Most of the technical stuff gets me lost but I will study up, like all those foreign words like re torque-ing and such.

Uh...yeah...there are a few things to know. I'll be glad to share but let's do that by PM so as not to bore the technical gurus here.

I'll be glad to share everything I know, PM. Been doing this car modding thing for longer than I care to admit. So, if ya PM me, PM <G> I'll be glad to pass along my knowledge!

Thanks for the kudos, PM. I appreciate it!
