My custom intake

I got bored and I had some parts left over from my old SRT4 biz so I put together this intake. So far the difference is VERY noticeable. I am going to the track later this week to see if my trap speed is any better. So far the best trap is 108mph. This is a true cold air intake due to the very thick reenforced silicone tubing that does not conduct the heat to the inside of the tube and the air source coming from outside the engine bay. I ordered some delrin from McMaster Karr that I will fab up some 3/8" phenolic spacers for the intake manifold. Together this will keep my AIT (Air Intake Temp) as close to ambiet as possible.

Not a big fan of the red... but nice job. How close is it to the belts? What kind of filter are you running on the end of it?

Red is what I had and it matches the 6.1 on the valve cover. The belts are nowhere near the intake hose and there is no possible way for them to hit it. The filter is one that we sourced for an intake we did for the Ssaturn Ion Redline. It has a vrey nice bell mouth transition to the tube and in the top of the filter is another cone to smooth the air into the tube as well. > >

I agree... the last pic wasn't up when I started my reply... I'd be careful, and I DEF would not go in any standing water for any reason, lol.

Rain is not a problem. Standing water I will use common sense until my AEM bypass comes in.

very cool, looks similar to the one I am putting together, but I have filters at both low vent locations and a "y" pipe bringing them together before coming up into the engine bay...
