cut outs on 5.7

ok i am seriously considering putiing electric cut outs on my 5.7 c just have a couple of questions is the stock c exhaust 2.5" or 2 1/4"? does anyone else have em? what kind of hp gains will it get me if any? thanks guys

i am thinking about them too. i'll do them with my PPP 392, kooks headers, and a torque converter at the same time. pull it all out and replace 'em with bigger and better goodies. xmas '07 for me.

On a stock 5.7 you will be eliminating the resonator and mufflers but presumably not the cats. I would guess if could be as much as 15 RWHP. This only opens up the exhaust of course so to fully realize the benefits you may also have to open up the intake a little and/or adjust the tune. If done as a stand alone mod it may hurt your low end torque as much as it helps your high end RWHP. Just a guess on my part though, I've never seen any results from this mod.
