Need Help With Exhaust Issue

Hey Guys and, do we have any gals? HEMMEE where are you?

Ok, I installed DynaTech headers and I love the feel and sound. I have no CEL light but at WOT around 4500-5000 rpm before shift I get a popping sound through the exhaust like a detonation sound. Any ideas on where to look? Thanks in advance. I ordered a Flashpaq and wonder if this will help.

Does it only happen when you come off the pedal?

Is it a detonating sound or is it more like a crack/sharp backfire?

Haven't really tested if it happens on or off pedal. I will and let you know. It's a popping sound through the headers from what I can hear. Not in a rythym and not like a backfire. It is fairly loud in the car. It's right under your feet it seems. quick pops

Check that the o2 sensors are nipped up and the connecting flanges are sitting flat against each other and tight (from header cats pipe). How long has it been doing it for. Since it was installed or has it gradually gotten more noticeable.

Might pay to go back over all the header bolts again and nip them back up. May have settled in a bit since the install.

It started at install! We thought we had a bad cat because it was loose inside but still did it after install. I will check all connections because that's what it sounds like is maybe leaking. I described it in another post as sounding like when you blow on a baby's stomach.

thats a good description PappaD!

like stated above, its sounds like the flanges are a bit loose or off a tad.
