Driving your 300 W/OUT your TCM plugged in

I didn't know it was possible.. but it is..

and the car didn't seem to behave any differently than when it is attached...

I unplugged my TCM last night to remove the original to ship off to another member I traded with (long story) and I put his in place.

I decided to see how the car would behave without it in place..

Auto Stick doesn't work, but in "D" she drives fine....

Most likely a failsafe mode in case of TCM failure.

this is a great little fact to know! kinda' like TCM limp mode...you lose your stick but not your DRIVE lol

Can you guys imagine leaving Mr I alone with a perfectly working piece of new equipment and a toolbox nearby...along with about 8hrs of free time on his hands lol talk about increasing your product knowledge with a quickness!

Dad never left me alone with tools, after I dismantled his new computer (when I was 9) Table Saw (when I was 10) and then his lawn mower (when I was 11). Just to see how they worked..

Good thing is I remembered how it all came apart and dad taught me to put all the screws in baggies and label them, so I never had any left over (ok almost never)

My dad was cool (RIP Dad) he taught me how to build an engine when I was 13 (Chevy 454 Small Block) and when I was 15 we bought a 1978 Trans Am from a Police Auction and dumped the 454 into it...

though the first car I ever drove and worked on was his 1968 Thunderbird (429CI) and the second was his 1962 Corvette (327CI). I got my a$$ whooped for taking the radio apart (I think I was like 6 or 7)
