removing catalic converter

hey am thinking of removing the stock catalic converter and install a direct pipe instead of it so what do u think would i gain anything ????

i didnt get the back to back thing what do u mean ???:s mine is an srt to with cat-back (corsa) and K&N CAI

Exactly. My car was used for development of the headers. It was dyno'd in every possible configuration. With & without an air filter; with and without cats; with and without Magnaflow cat-back attached to the headers; 1 3/4" headers, 1 7/8" headers; and finally stepped headers (on my car now). I think we actually got 9 hp by deleting the cats.

did u get the check engine light ??? and if u did get it what did u do to remove it instead of taking it back to the dealer

I have 2 CEL codes for not having cats, one for each bank. It doesn't hurt anything...it's just a light, and it doesn't bother me.

You can reset it by pulling fuse 11 (in the fusebox under the hood), but the light usually comes back on within 100 miles.
