Short-tube header install?

Hey. After poking around on the forums, I'd decided on short-tube headers instead of longs because they offer more oomph at takeoff and low end revs. I'm probably getting JBA titanium ceramicoated shorties, with Magnaflow high-flow cats, probably get them both from HHP.

Getting to the point, do I need to do anything special to install shorties? I saw someone mentioned raising the engine an inch and a half. I'm plannying on DIY-ing this, so if that can be avoided that'd be great. For reference I'll be putting it onto a 300C 5.7L RWD.

Help?

I just installed JBA shorties and HHP High flow cats.

Not much oomph though, at least not for me. Many members went with this combo and were more than satisfied.

I’m not saying that these parts are wrong choice, however things do not always work as planed (and advertised).

You can check out my troubling experience (so far) at How to ruin you car's performance (and spend $ 4,000 in a process)

Cheers Igor, I've posted on that thread in the past. I'm not expecting a tremendous gain in power (although I think your headers and the torque converter you bought are a bit of a contradiction; one boosts low end whilst the converter only works once the engine's revved up. Just my $0.02), I'm more looking at an overall improvement once I've got everything on (airhammer, headers and cats, Borla exhaust).

Did you have any troubles at all installing the JBA shorties and HHP cats? I'm looking at parts that give a reasonable gain whilst retaining a 'bolt-on' simplicity of install. This car will be primarily a luxury cruiser, but I thought it'd be fun to have a few more ponies available when I gun it from the lights
