AFE Filter changing color

I installed the AFE Stage 2 CAI about 3 weeks ago and I recently noticed that the filter is now lighter in color after 1,500 miles. Is it normal for the blue filter to change to a lighter shad after some miles?

Wow, that's pretty often. The cleaner and recharge kit I got recommended every 3,000 miles.
