what 900 HP looks like, plus....

so I am thinking that these 1/4 times my dashhawk is giving me (12.67, 12.64 and 12.65) can't be right. They are not the "track" but still...nobody else has posted times like that on here. Then it hit me!! When the car was stock, and I added 20 inch wheels, I recalibrated the speedo with my flshpaq, and when I took the car to HHP for heads/cam/flash etc.. they took it back to stock.

So tonight, to check it, I had my brother take my STS-V and me in the 300 C out to the freeway to measure. After that, we "played" quite a bit, and even switched cars.

First..the speedo was perfectly accurate. Second/// welll first, here a couple pics:

well holy crap did I learn something when we decided to run them against each other.

1st run, from a 10mph roll, both got good launches, 300c pulled easily to a win up to about 100.
2nd run, from a dig, 300C pulled slightly, up to about 90 mph.
3rd run, on freeway from a 50 roll, sts-v pulled slightly after originally falling behind, up to about 100. Now the thing I noticed was that the temp in the C was 183 for first race, 195 for second and around 204 for third. Heat soak had taken its toll (even though I have a 180 thermostat, I now think I need a fan mod). So we pulled into a rest stop (where pics were taken) and let the cars cool off for a while. Then we switched--I got in my caddy.

So back we went with the temp back down to 185..a 60 roll to 115. No contest...300C pulledeasily to 3 carlengths or more...I couldn't believe it!! We did it again..300C JUMPED out and sts-v stopped its pull but did not gain ground...unreal.

Then, we found a place to do a side by side again from a dig. My brother is not as practiced as I at launching the C, so he had wheelspin galore. The STS-v is a great launcher, so I jumped out 3/4 car length, but that modded C closed it fast at about 70 and we had to knock off.

So I learned (or re-learned) :

1. the mods to the 300C make it go, and sound, incredible. It is faster than the stock srt8 I used to drive. Trust me..it is!
2. It is easily more affected by heat soak than the sts-v, and the difference is very noticable in it's performance.
3. the sts-v is a rocket launcher, and "re wakes up" at about 90mph.

When we get a chance we are taking them both to Milan Dragway (will be a few weeks), and even though that Caddy will likely run low 13s (13.2, 13.3) cause they all seem to, I think the C will beat it. I still owe you all pics (with a good camera versus attached cell phone shots) of the work HHP di on the C. Got a new digital and will post some pics this weekend.

Great post. You’ve made some interesting discoveries with those two very hot cars. Thanks for sharing your results and I look forward to when you take them both to the track.

This got me thinking if I can take a CTSV with a couple mods that I currently have.
