zex makes some very safe nitrous kits. i would definitely go with them. they have a pedal activation switch so it operates at WOT. its a great kit and i would go with that. i am a mustang guy but a v8 is a v8. you can probably use a 100 shot without any problems. 125-150 shot should be used sparingly or on a track but that is my opinion. i would do research where to buy the kit.
i would not buy a nitrous kit used. who knows what they did to the bottle. having a bottle heater works wonders for nitrous but there are stupid people who will torch their bottles to warm it up. that is a big no no.

good luck and trust Zex!! dont forget a purge kit too.

I would look at TNT Nitrous. They have adual nozzel application that our cars seem to really like. This is the hot kit right now. It's the F1 Dual Nozzel at their site. You can get it 100.00 cheaper from Motorsport Technologies, Inc. . I am not a dealer or affiliated with them. I talked to David. I was referred to them by Moose. Someone was talking about getting a ring from Arizona Sound & Speed I believe that's their name.

I would do a search for nitrous here and read, read, read!!

HI Greggk, On my old set-up I was using a NX EFI express dodge kit, if you go with a NX kit, my builder told me later i should have skipped the dodge kit, and gone with the ford kit, it would have been easier to install. You need a good TPS swtich, and window switch (must have in my book). I used the Zex window switch, and it worked well.

As far as tuning the only thing that you can really do is play with the jets to ensure proper A/F ratio, make sure you are using a high octane fuel when usuing the nitrous. I always filled mine with 93.

As far as gains go I didn't have it long enough to go to the track on the street though it worked well here is an attached dyno sheet on and off the juice.

The first one was way back when all stock never touched a thing base line.

Next one was on all stock with a 75 shot

Next one all stock 100 shot.

Those like I said were all stock so your experience might vary, I didn't have any dyno done after the long tubes were put in and high flow cats and I wished I had, oh well it went right back to the shope has been there since lol.

As far as the biggest shot you can run we found on my vehicle 125 shot was the biggest we wanted to run the pistons have a very very shallow ring land, and anything over that is going to eventually cause you problems. I did run a 125 a couple times and on the Mustang dyno we used to tune the vehicle everything looked good, and I used it about 10 times on the street with no problem.

As far as cost it depends on you Nitrous is used only when you want it to be it lays down huge torque, to get these beasts moving, and around here I could fill a 15lb bottle for 25 dollars and get about 8-10 good uses out of it. So for me it was worth it. It is addictive though it's like a drug you take that first hit and then you are hooked and want more and more lol.

Good luck with it.

I'll give this a SHOT (no pun intended)

1. You don't need a tuner just go one plug colder. If you want one get it!
2. DO NOT go over 100hp shot!
3. TNT rates their kits at the rear wheel so if you go 100hp you get 100hp
4. I am getting TNT due to several members that are really into nitrous. See link above. I do not represent them in any way.
5. YES it's worth the money.
Let's compare:

Heads and cam with install - about $4,000 = 75-100hp
Turbo or Supercharger - $7,000 = 100hp (if they ever make one that won't blow motors)

Nitrous - $1200 = 100hp

So you see the dollar to HP ratio is going to point to nitrous. And it is only there when you want it. And your system can be taken back to stock quickly if you needed to!!!

My .02 and I am sure there will be other opinions so listen to them all and make your own choice!!!

TNT I guess is a good company.

I've ran nitrous on my mustangs before. I always ran with NX and have tried using Ny-Trex which is another great company.

I've never dealt with TNT so my opinion is biased.

I've had a zex kit before, the little box likes to play computer and control the a/f ratio and its not always a steady shot of 100 shot (it can vary). So i'll never used Zex again.

I'd go with NX. They have an electric tps box like zex uses.

thanx for the info everyone!!! and samsonxd that is some great documented info for your experiences with the different jettings.

i have a question though. everyone says one degree colder of plugs... what plug number is it, and what brand is recommended for this, as i want to start collecting parts and such as i wanna decimate a pesky slightly modded mazda6 thats around here with a v6 and 5 speed. hes just still right behind me when we play but its still too close for me... i wanna lose him and quickly!

my parts i am looking at is the dynatech lt headers w/ cats (to make johnny law happy), b&b or bassani catback, and the nitrous along with the dub cai i have on the way to my house. i hope with these mods i can look at about 365-375 hp at the wheels with a 100 shot... possibly more if possible. do yall think i am on the right track here?
