IAT Sensor - Air Hammer mishap....

Installed the Air Hammer today and was very excited....until I broke the IAT sensor while pushing it through the Air Hammer gasket. So now it's almost Sunday which means I'll have to wait until Monday to get a new IAT. I'm pretty sure I'm almost fully retarded.

Anyways, just wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience. Think it would be OK to drive without an IAT? I'm using vasoline next time to get that thing in!

Also, if anyone knows the part number for the air sensor, please let me know. Thanks!

I asked the same question on another forum and was told ,by someone in the know, that it is not a problem to drive with a broken sensor. You may get a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL), but that is not an issue and the car should drive OK.

I would first check with the dealer. I think the sensors cost around $20.

I don't have the air hammer I have the KandN intake system, but I remember when I did that install the toughest part of the job was not breaking that damn sensor. Don't feel bad, its a delicate balancing act to not break it.

I had a heck of a time with my Mopar CAI, I found dishwashing soap works the best for lubricant.

Glad I'm not the only one who had difficulties. I'm headed to the dealer today to pick up a new one (looks like they're about $28). I'll keep you posted on how things go. Thanks again guys!

Sorry for your mishap, but I just installed my airhammer this weekend as well and GOT LUCKY with no issues on AIT. Just make sure you spray some lubricant to make it a bit easier...I used WD-40.
