They've tested it on the 5.7. Waiting for SRT-8 info.

There will be custom tuning available in the future. Nothing beats having a car like that on a dyno to be tuned. It will be nice when that option is widely available... someday.

tbyrne, do you think you could do us here a favor and ask in the Q&A thread over on LXF how much progress has been made on the SRT8 they have? i asked twice previously and my question got overlooked or ignored. not sure if it really was overlooked, or if they didnt answer because they dont have any info on the SRT8 yet. the july 31 deadline is close, and i for one am skeptical this will have full SRT8 support when it launches.

of course, if you have some inside info on this, let us know too thanks.

From what I was told today, they are still planning on having the SRT-8 tuning available when this is released.

Alot of customers have been asking what this programmer will do to the torque management. DiabloSport is taking care of that. Some have also asked what torque management is. They keep hearing about it and know that it can hurt performance.

Torque Management (TM) is software built into the PCM that is designed to protect the driveline from excessive torque that could damage or destroy components. It helps auto manufacturers keep their warranty costs at a reasonable level. TM is invoked when the calculated amount of torque exceeds a set of constants stored in a table. When this happens, the PCM will modulate the throttle for a period of time in order to get below the max torque threshold regardless of what you're doing with the gas pedal. TM occurs on launches and hard shifts. On stock tires, you might not be losing much -- as you are more traction limited than torque limited. However with drag radials or slicks the amount of loss is going to be greater. Will reducing TM damage the vehicle? Most likely not. I haven't seen a car have drivetrain problems after the TM was reduced/eliminated.

This handheld will have multiple functions. You'll be able to increase performance along with read/clear trouble codes and also monitor live data.

SRT-8 tuning is supposed to be available when this handheld is released. It will cover the 5.7 and 6.1 "LX" cars. They don't have any plans to release tuning for the V6 at this time.

I'll bet you $100 they don't have SRT-8 tunes available on 7-31. They haven't even started on that car yet.

Wrong, I talked to Diablo directly and was told they have gotten 20 RWHP with their 300C SRT 8 on the dyno. At this time this tune does not include Torque Management or cooling fan control. These will come in the software update that can be downloaded for free off the internet.

well if this is true that is great...

but mike from diablo over on LXF is telling us that their SRT8 is in getting serviced and they are not able to test the tunes on it. maybe they got this before the car went in, but he has said they are waiting for a local SRT8 to come in early next week.

The SRT Engineers will be very interested in those results....if true.
