Look behind your throttle body butterfly and you'll see why. The 6.1s (at least) throw a lot of oil vapor from the PCV valve into the throttle body. I've seen the film inside of mine. The catch can collides the droplets so they fall out of solution, stay out of your intake, and stay out of your air charge. LS1s have the same problem.

so true

all 6.1's driven enthusiastically will have some oil in the intake. How much just depends on your engine's blowby characteristics.

This is a great mod. Might stop some of the smoke on startup threads.

Totally agree with this setup and I think I have this weekend free as well. The LS1 boys have a similar problem and I have seen this work for them too.

From what I hear you can fill the can almost half way with two weeks worth of AGGRESSIVE driving

Thanks for letting me put this together for you. I hope it meets your expectations.

The pics in the first post were of the initial mock up. I now have black fittings and appropriate hose clamps on now. Thanks for sending 96SS to me. He was very helpful in the build process.
