I second that. Just did an oil change with RP 5W20 and a NAPA Gold filter. Good times....

I'd personally recommend AMSOIL 0W20 100% Synthetic...

Oh no, here we go again, just kidding, more opportunity to pontificate.

Well DF, looks like Amsoil has addressed what we had lots of discussion about a while back, unlike their 5w20, their 0w20 is indeed 100% synthetic and has a 25K interval unlike the 5w20 series XL7500 which has a mere 7.5K interval.

I would go with DF's recommendation however RP is a fine oil as is Redline. M1is dumbing down their oil and I am no longer going with M1.

You might read through the 500 or so posts in the "thoughts on synthetic oil thread".

Napa Gold is an excellent filter, filters are very important and often overlooked in these kinds of discussions. I use magnets on the filter and drain bolt, some don't think much of magnets (virtually all transmissions and many differentials and transfer cases use them) but the proof is in the pudding not in the recipe. Here and Here are my results.

Royal Purple 5W20 is the best Synthetic Oil. I've used it since my first oil change.

These vehicles take 7 Qts (don't know what a Cct is) with a filter change. I am using a fully synthetic specialty oil in extended service life in both our LXs. However, because the supplier is not a supporting vendor I can not provide the name or a link. Just want you to recognize there are alternatives to RP, AO and Mobil1 (Diesel grade).

Moose, I have never heard a "don't use" decree regarding M1... although there was some discussion of how the non-diesel grade ASE spec had had some of the guts taken out of it.

As we have seen here in our numerous "oil threads", if you ask 6 people that question you could get 6 different answers. If you ask 50 people you might get 50 different answers. For some reason people are more 'brand loyal' about oil than they are about cars! The truth is there is no "Bad" synthetic oil. The filter is more critical as there are HUGE differences in filter quality. Whatever you do don't use a Fram Filter. Cut a new one open and look inside and you'll see why.

Personally I use Royal Purple 5w20 in my '05 300C and my '07 Dodge Ram (both 5.7 Hemis) and ONLY Napa Gold Filters (#1085). A WIX 51085 is the same filter.
