As I got underneath the friggin' oil pan nut was torqued on there so hard I ended up destroying a socket wrench trying to loosen it. Eventually I did and when I moved on to the filter I noticed some slight oil drops on the bottom of the filter and some splatter around the area. I go to loosen it up and the friggin' thing was already loose!!!!! Has anyone else encountered this?
This exact scenario? No. I have encountered overtightened fasteners, broken parts, excessive additional miles, bad attitudes, ignorance, etc.
Sigh, we must endure this, we have no choice. Do everything that you can do yourself. Never leave it overnight. Always do a walk around before and after with the service manager.
This is funny, if you do a search of the forum, I bet you find 50 threads where people are complaining about the filters being to tight to get them off! I think this is the first one I've ever seen about being too loose
As an aside note, I installed the fumoto valve last April when I did my first oil change. Last weekend I actually got to use it. What a treat. I bought the N version that has the little spigot you can connect a hose onto, and drain directly into you catch pan. Slick and clean. Now if I could just figure out a way to get the dang filter off without dripping all over. I tried the baggie trick this time, but it got so slick with the oil getting trapped inside that I dropped it...DOH!

What is the part number for the valve for the 300C, is it the F106? Which did you get? Thanks.
Big Smooth - There are 2 possible parts for the 300C. The F-106 or the F-106N. The only difference between the two is that the N part has a little spout that you can attach a piece of rubber hose onto, and drain directly into your catch pan without oil squirting through the air. I got the N version, and it's very solid and well built, and that ability to use the hose for draining makes it worth the extra couple of bucks.

I should have been more clear in my second post which provides a link to the Fumoto web site. I got the N for the C and S430, I hane the regular for the Ody and MDX. Without question the N is the way to go, you point the hose to the pan and do a drip free oil change.

Does it come with the hose or do you get that elsewhere?

Lowes, I use the clear hose or a piece of cut garden hose whatever I find in the garage I am about to do the S430 tomorrow and will measure the diameter that best fits, the garden hose is too big to snug fit but works fine.
