I don't have the EVIC 0-60 option and I have not followed or know of the heated debate you speak of but if many of the EVIC's are reporting this kind of time then I can see why as it seems to be in the neighborhood of .5" optimistic. Have you tested your EVIC against a third party like G-Tech or Flashpaq or have you read of others that have and if so what were the results? If it is not in something like wheels spin as you can attest then it must be something in the way it measures.
I have experienced something similar with my old Flashpaq but the opposite sign. The Flashpaq gives numbers in the 60' that are too slow. I am suspicious that it is not in the actual measurement inaccuracies but rather the starting mph that triggers the start of measuring. I am now curious to know if the new model cars with the 0-60 feature in the EVIC suffer a similar fate. If the trigger to start recording is let's say 3 mph and at the tract you can only muster 2 mph before breaking free of the second beam then it would consistently give a low 0-60 time but measure everything else like speed and acceleration correctly?
It sounds like you have read and or done some experimenting that could shed some light on this subject already. What have been your experiences?
These should keep you busy for awhile. I think in the Lxforum post below somene comments about how the sRT8 engineers commented on how the 0-60 timer works. Of course they are going to say they are accurate regardless...
goherd90...Quite entertaining, thank you for the links. I guess I don't know what to think at this point after reading all of that! Using the spreadsheet link provided by Vcubed and my most recent Flashpaq "time slip" I get a 4.6 SAE corrected 0-60 and that is consistent with my expectations. Base on my SAE corrected 1/4 mile time of 13" I think that we would be somewhat equal? I'm not trying to change your mind, it sounds like you've already been through plenty of that, but it sounds like there is something a little amiss with the EVIC 0-60 timer. I take it that the EVIC does not record the 60', 330', 880', and 1320' times? Murphy's Law says it couldn't be that easy. Anyway, in the meantime I will just be impressed with your 0-60' times.

Yeah...they simply cannot be accurate..I'll be the first to say with my set up there is no way in hell I can run a 3.98! I think the 08's evic has some expaned time i.e., 1/8 and 1/4 mile times?
Hey...how do you like your corsa? I cannot make up my mind between that and a pioneer nav?

I simply love my Corsa's. When I first bought them I wanted to have the ability to be stealth when necessary and they worked like a charm. Quiet at idle and partial throttle, kept the MDS drone at bay, but allowed unrestricted airflow at WOT. As time went on I became used to and appreciative of the bark when I would stand on it. As I have made engine upgrades and the exhaust has broken in they have become noticeably louder. Still quiet at idle and partial throttle but very noticeable at WOT! I think that I have been corrupted over time and now I really look forward to standing on it just to hear the exhaust. Out on the open road I have had people go out of their way to follow into gas stations just to ask what kind of engine my car had because they had never hear anything like it, in a good way! Kind of childish but kind of fun too.

Reason: typo

ditto for me...Corsa was the absolute right choice. Nice v-8 burble at idle and "normal" driving...but when you nail it...it says "get out of my way."
and by the way...I think I already posted a picture of my best time on the evic in my Charger srt8-the day I installed the diablo. Its 1.25....yeah you read that right. I stopped on an empty country road, turned off TC, and nailed it. The car travelled three or 4 feet in 5 or 6 seconds..ostly sideways. The smoke was beyond belief..and when I looked down at the time it said 1.25 seconds. My best time before that was 4.68...
