about to install new heads, any advice

My buddy, adodge mechanic, can get (i think) the 6.1 heads for about a $G... he said installing them on my C will gimme another 30hp at the wheels... is this accurate?

I have the borla exhaust, got rid of the noise silencer (that plastic muffler thing), had the (Jet) chip...but got rid of it...cause i didn't really notice a difference, got a K&N intake....& I think this would be a great mod....

He's also telling me that I gotta goto an exhaust place so they can shorten the tubes on my exhaust or something....not sure exactly what he's talking about...

Any advice would be appreciated....

I take it you have a C. I think the inlet and exhaust ports are different so you may need to change intake manifold and exhaust headers???? I think.

Also, I don't see them being worth 30hp. That's getting close to what a set of ported 5.7 heads will show for a gain. If you decide to go with aftermarket heads

5.7 Maxx Head kit includes:
Fully CNC ported 5.7 castings, 2.00x1.55 valves (327cfm), proprietary valve job, titanium retainers, Viton seals, heat insulator intake gaskets, Manley polished bee hive springs, 5/16 chrome moly push rods, fully assembled. These are $1780.

Or you can send your heads in to be worked -

5.7 and 6.1 CNC Ported Heads include:
Induction and exhaust port 5 Axes CNC porting with proprietary valve job. Includes new seat valve seats, disassemble, recondition and reassembly. $1240. for these.

The heads listed are done by INDY. Both sets will mate up to your stock intake and exhaust manifolds so you won't have to worry about changing anything else.
