Question about cutouts??

Hello, I have had my 2006 300 (base model) for about a month. I want to order the cutout's for it,,but not sure if I need 2.0,2.5, or 3.0 size wise. I am looking to get the electric ones from Badlanz. Since I have the base model,,should I order the single or the double? Is there anything else i need for this process? Also where should I go to have all this installed? I live in Atlanta ,GA. Thanks.

I have the touring and just ordered my cutout. i was told in the email that we need a single 2.5 and the 2.0-2.5 y adapter. You can go to most body shops or any muffler shop to have this installed. as for the wiring the body shop should be able to install it. but i doubt that the muffler shop will. some after market shops can do muffler work and they would be able to install the switch.

A V6 with cutouts. I don't think anyone's done that as of yet. Post some sound files/video when you have gotten it done, I'm curious about how it'd sound.

Yes it does still split in two but there is a point near the center of the car where you would want to attach it. putting the exhaust cut out too close to the headers and engine can cause problems in the future. which is why i chose one single cutout which i will install where the two pipes meet.

Povlov has a point, having it too close to your engine will cause issues, however placing them after the cats should provide enough backpressure to avoid these problems. I do recommend putting in duals before the exhaust merges, the restrictions created by merging the pipes will lessen your performance gains. HOWEVER, I would look into this further, as the pipes may be merged for exhaust flow reasons, in which case you will want a single cutout after the merger.

Just curious, what kind of gains could be expected by cutouts on a 5.7L? Right behind the X-pipe and before the "suitcase" looks like an ideal place to put dual e-cutous. I'm sure they'd be way too loud for everyday use, but they'd be great for racing (and scareing little kids) if some decent gains are achieved.

Better than any aftermarket exhaust, although I don't know any exact numbers. Shoot off a PM to PureEnjoyment, he'll tell you all about his ones (they sound amazing!)
