170 Thermostat

I finally installed my 170 thermostat today. As I was going out the door with my tools, my wife said dinner would be ready in 20 minutes. Thanks to the posts with pictures provided by forum members, it took all of 5 minutes. Then I ran my car with radiator cap off whist listening to tunes just to check it out and bleed any air from the system. the car was fully warmed up when my wife rang the dinner bell. Can't wait to try it out. The Predator on order should take care of the fan temperature setting. My wife, my son and I then polished of two good bottles of wine. Not a bad life. Will report on my impressions.

Congrats on finally putting it all together. The pics from Freebird were definitely helpful as well. I would just love to see you run when your wife rings the dinner bell, lol. Hope the meal was scrumptious!

When I got it home and opened the packaging, it looked kind of small. Hit the forum, the thread implied that the t-stat was 63 mm diameter an this sucker is more like 53 mm. Damn! Anyway, I took a picture of the offending t-stat in for the forim.
you don't need a 180 stat in Canada. If you are going to install it, make sure you put the 195f one back in when fall comes.

If I need to change it, at least I know that it isn't much more work than pulling fuse 11! As for not needing a 180 thermostat in Canada, we sure don't need that power sucking stock one. For all it costs, if I ever see the Motorad 4128 equivalent, I will pick one up to have on hand.

That's funny...

Depends where in Canada you live!
