Corsa...is it worth doing the headers at the same time????

I have decided to go with a Corsa exhaust on my 2007 5.7 (SRT Design)and was wondering while I'm doing that I might as well go the whole hog and put in new headers, my question is... what are peoples thoughts on that and which headers to go for.

I'm looking at making the noise very low when cruising but raspy when on the gas pedal.

I don't understand the difference between shorties and longies! can someone help please?

One last question I have aready put on a new Airhammer CAI and have flashed it with the Superchips Flashpaq, what difference am I honestly going to see in terms of noise, fuel consumption and power?

Regards Mark

Mark, your avitar signature states you have an SRT. There is no way you could have flashed your car with Superchips Flashpaq.

As for your question, long tubes are "longer" and are tuned better for your full exhaust stysem. The stock SRT exhaust manifolds are already like a poor mans short tube header system. If you are thinking on replacing your headers, you do want to go long tubes. But keep in mind its a nasty job. Takes good mechanics a full day.

Here's something you might want to try and something that I am going to be doing. I'm replacing my system with a high flow cats and the corsa exhaust. I feel the stock headers are fine for a stock engine. Now when I replace my heads, that's the perfect opportunity to change out the stockers to long tubes.

Hope that helps,

Moose.

Moose - he's got an SRT Design Group car (5.7L), not an SRT8. It's the base 300C with slightly upgraded exhaust, computer, and suspension (basically the 300C version of a Dodge Daytona).

To be honest, Wildmark, I think you're in some uncharted territory. I'm not sure a lot of people have done performance mods to the SRT Design Group. I'm a little surprised the SuperChips flash went flawlessly for you. I also wonder how much difference in HP and sound you will notice with the AirHammer and Corsas, given that the SRTDG already has an upgraded intake/exhaust system that nets you 10HP over stock 300Cs. I would try asking over at the Charger forums, since a lot of owners there have the R/T Road & Track Package or Daytonas, which is essentially the same set of upgrades.

Let us know how things work out for you - I'm sure other SRT Design Group owners would be interested, too.

Oh, yeah I know about the Design group...I just didn't read that in his sig. I saw SRT but didn't catch the next line being the Design.

I'm pretty sure the intake and exhaust on the car is onluy partway towards a decent breathing system, a corsa with good headers will realse some more. I highly reccomend the superchips, sharpens the car right up!

here is the sound of the corsa's on a 5.7, with Kooks Long tubes n Hi Flows (also cam and PP heads). While cruising, a mild rumble, but under WOT or hard acceleration, well..just listen..
