Question Colder Thermostats

Hi guys, any idea where to get colder thermostats for our hemis i.e. 160 or 180 degrees instead of the 203 degrees one that we have.
FYI. our thermostat is the same as the ones on the Ram and Durango hemis.
thnx

Maherm, won't matter much unless you also change when the fans turn on as the fans are programmed to the stock tstat. A chip is needed for this, and the jetchip won't do that, and there's no programmer's yet.

160 degree thermos are too cold for a street driven vehicle.

Maherm, What I'm saying is that your cooling fans won't turn on until your motor reaches a certain temp anyway.
If your sitting in rush hour on a hot day, your 180 will be just wide open until you reach 212, or whatever the temp is programmed at before the cooling fans turn on. Cool?

This may be true, but there is a science behind the temps choosen for thermostates. One of the biggest factors in driving temps up, of course, is emissions considerations. 180 degrees and the proper tuning to utilize the fans is a much better consideration for street driven vehicles. There is little chance you actually get your engine temps anywhere near 160 with a 160 thermo, but if you did, your engine actually experiences increased wear.

Something to consider is a good oil cooler and increasing the oil capacity through such a system. Your oil will run much hotter than the coolant, usually, and putting a cooler in line can bring temps down several degrees.
