Talking Building a sweet running daily driver.

Well, after talking with Fixer, a true enthusiast and great guy to work with, we kicked around some options, and decided to move ahead with an intake through exhaust makeover.

I wanted to keep the noise down and power up on this build, and will try to do justice to Fixer as I document how things roll out. We will be starting things out Friday AM, and wrapping things up over the weekend (providing parts roll in as planned.)

Speaking of parts, here is what we are looking at:

Airhammer CAI

PPP Stage 2 5.7 Heads: manley valve springs, titanium retainers, machined locks, bronze valve guides, hardened valve spring locators , viton valve seals

Still working on Cam selection, but it looks like the PPP 5.7 Race Warrior

JBA Performance Headers and Ex LX 5.7L Hemi Ceramic Power Package
as seen here: 402 Motoring

Diablo Tuner (when it becomes available)

We plan on doing a before and after dyno run, so the results should be a lot of fun to watch.

I am really looking forward to it!

I will keep you posted!

The last thing I need to be doing for my car is tuning it myself! That is why I sought someone who has some serious real world experience on these cars. I will follow Fixer's lead all the way through on this. If tune or setup change a bit, I'll keep you posted. This should be a lot of fun.

Moose, do you have a thread or anything that shows what you're looking at? I am always curious to see what folks are up to, and what results they are getting.

Thumbs up

Go for it, Detour!

If you haven't done it yet, look at Meister's threads on here. He has done amazing things with the 5.7 HEMI including speed runs of over 171 mph. He has laid down some great 1/4 mile times as well as some hot laps on the road racing courses.

He is also a very helpful guy who will share all his mods (well - most of them, anyways ) with you, if you PM him.

there is no stand-alone for the LX's. you could hook it up. but you would lose all your display, ESP, TM.

I would be very interested in seeing how things go, I too have been told 'fixer' is a great guy and can turn my baby into a monster. I have the same criteria as you, it has to be a daily driver and quite when driving normaly.

I was supposed to call Dave today but work got in the way, I will be calling him in the morning, I would be very grateful to see your coments on project.

If you don't mind me asking how much are you looking to spend on the whole project and whats your RWHP expectations?

Regards

Mark (Tampa)
