Stock intake pipe....

So, has anyone either replaced or modified the stock intake pipe to eliminate the pre-heat box over the radiator hose?

I like the design of the stock airbox as it takes air from the front of the car. All it's missing is and extension to the front bumper (ala Volant) and removal of the pre-heat box. I'm talking specifically about the CSRT......
