Upgrading Factory Fog Lamps

Hello Fellow 300C Friends,

I am wanting to replace the H10 lamps from my fogs. The reason for this the fact that their yellow hue does not match the look of the HID headlamps.

Has anyone changed their foglamps yet? How easily or hard are they to change.

I found an interesting H10 replacement vendors that claim to be able to match the color of HID/Zenon...here is a link for one.

Can anyone help me with details of switching the factory fogs out?

the yellowish hue is supposed to work better while in foggy conditions, hence the name...foglight

Ooh, good point--I hadn't thought of that. :o

I guess this is another case of performance over
cosmetics, eh?

True, but remember when you ever tried to see better in a fog by turning on your regular lights? The fog itself reflected your lights back at you.

So, not only is yellow a better color for them, but also to get them lower and closer to the road to cut down on particle reflection so you can see the road. More power at the light probaly <won't> do any better for that purpose.

"Course, if you'll want to show off all your lamps to attract the feminine fireflies, that's something else. :^))))

Me, I want to see!!

Having HID headlights will also help alot in the fog. Since the beam pattern on these lights has a sharp cutoff on top it keeps the light from reflecting and obscuring your vision. I live in an area that can get very foggy and HID's are the best. Sure fog lamps are okay but I've never found them very effective. In California it's illegal to drive with headlights off and flog lights on. May be true in other states since the factory fogs only work with the headlights.

On the "C" without HID, which I wish I had ordered, they still have the projector housing. That allows for the same flat and directional beam pattern, with the reversed L shape to it. Thankfully.
