Had mufflers removed....

and put 3 3/4" oval tips on too. The tips look grrrreat! IMO anyway
I will get some pics shortly and post them up. I have a pic of the stock tips too to show for a comparison.
The sound. Well, it's nice. I can actually hear it now. It is not too loud, in fact, it's perfect for me. I was afraid it would sound like my truck which it doesn't at all. Nice throaty rumble. It is noticeable and does turn heads, but it is not obnoxious.
I'll post pics either later tonight or tomorrow. If anyone is considering this route, go for it. It definately makes the car sound like it has what it has for an engine. A nice small block V8.

steves300c, in the under car shot the pipe looks a little low hanging. Have you had any problems scraping?

Hi. No, not at all. My parents have a very steep driveway and backing out or pulling in to it, I have no problems.
The other day I took a drive through the 'valley' here in Delaware and came up on a steep hill rather fast and it didn't bottom out at all there either.
The pipes are actually where they were from the factory, you can see where they welded the new pipes and painted them. The lower part before where the mufflers used to be located.
I had to take my wife to the Cadillac/Olds dealer to pick her car up after some warranty work and a service writer came up to me and said that the car sounds sweet and that the other C's he's heard were quiet. I then told him what I had done. It was kinda fun with all the workers at the dealer checking the car out.
I've been a GM guy for 20 years and still feel a little like I'm cheating when I drive this car. Ha Ha!

I am waiting 'til mid next year for the 300C to be released "Down Under" here in Australia. I have been a GM guy too for many years and loyal to the one dealer. Yep I am looking forward to the day of driving my 300C in there and showing them how it is done

That does stink that it takes so long for a model to come out overseas. But then again, just keep coming to this board and read about what people have done and any problems that they've encountered with their modifications. Then you won't have to through the same headaches. Plus, when it is finally released there, there should be many, many more aftermarket mods available for you to choose(like, a supercharger!) .
Do you have a Holden? That new Coupe 4 is sweet! I was seriously contemplating a Pontiac GTO, but the 2 doors just weren't happening with 2 young kids(6yo and 3yo).
The LS1 and LS6 motors are excellent. They seem to pull forever.

Hi steves300c, Yeah I have a Holden Calais which is the top of the line 4 door sedan which the Coupe (or Monaro) is based on. Mine has the 3.8 Litre Supercharged V6 which is the Buick motor. The Coupe4 is build by Holden Special Vehicles (HSV), but you probably know all the stuff about HSV already . The Coupe4 is just released, even though they displayed it at the Sydney Motor Show in October 2003. From all reports it is a nice ride. My complaint with the LS1 is the lack of low down grunt and that is the big attraction with the 300C for me.

That indeed, was a problem with the LS1 motors. It was somewhat remedied with 3.73's or 4.10's though. It definately doesn't have the down low pull that the LT1 had.
I think that what is making me feel like my 300C is almost as strong as my SS was, was the low end pull that the 300C has.
I think you're gonna love your C when you get it. I did, and still do over 2 months later!

The LS1 lacks low-end? Geez, you guys are tough. I drove a GTO and I was pretty intimidated. Of course, it had an overly-aggressive throttle tip-in, which made snappier. I prefer to have a linear throttle to precisely control how much acceleration I want.

I think GM's LS1 is an awesome motor, and the 6.0 will be even better. The 300C won me over because it has the power of the GTO and looks a lot more distinctive. (Every time I told someone I was thinking about the GTO, they'd say, "Isn't that a Grand Am?")

I sooooooo wish the 300 had the GTO's seats, but I can't wait for the SRT version. Maybe in a couple years, I'll trade for the Charger, but Dodge had better offer a six-speed manual and a two-door version.

P.S. My Magnesium Pearl 300C arrives next week... only 6 weeks after ordering.
