I need more ponies!

If I did the cam( competition cams xfi 273), intake( Volant), and exhaust ( Corsa) on my C where do you think the Hp numbers would be?

I would say a safe gain bet would be in the neighborhood of 70hp on the conservative side, with 80-85 on the high side. If you take 80% of those figures, that should be about the torque gain as well.

Still pretty solid, puts you real close to the SRT-8 and you've still got the MDS. =)

You do realize you have no warranty, having said that why mess with the internals on the engine. What about headers, Volant, and Corsa exhaust that shoud net the same hp with less cost and no engine mods. Now, with an extra 85 ft lbs torque, make sure your AAA is active as you will need a tow when you blow the fragile tranny rated at 425.

A hot cam like that is not going to give you much in extra torque. You might even loose a little torque at low and mid RPM's. The extra HP will be at the upper RPM's only.

I'm guessing:
0-12 HP gain 0-4000 RPM
40-45 HP gain RW around redline.

You really need to see some dyno's over the entire RPM range.

Very good points AWD, the torque curve may be shifted as well with less grunt off the line.

SOLUTION: 2003 E55 = 469hp/516 ft/lbs torque (and a warranty).

I know I read somewhere that the trannys are not as fragile as they appear, someone had said something about a german tuning company stating that they had put over 500hp and 500lb/ft torque on this same tranmission, but that MB rates their trannys on quality of shift. So that said, I don't think we'll see a terribly high failure rate on the modified ones.

Who knows though, only time will tell...

hatax i post it again and if you know someone who speaks german they can check behind me
The tranny is fine damn. One of the guys i met from bmw (currently) but he worked for MB in the past. Told me the tranny so called set maximum is due to smoothness and the MB feel and he said MB set the max at 429.068lbs he said the tranny able to take maybe twice that but it will not have that patent MB feel. So i asked what is the patent MB feel he told me to ask someone that owned more than three MB and they can tell you, I told him look i just want to take this tranny to around 500lbs of torque and he told me you will not have a problem with that and if i not looking for that feel i could go past 600, it just will not be liquidy smooth i told him i just want to be solidly fast, he laughed. He told me if i knew anyone that speaks german to call brabus and they will confirm this but u have to speak to their cust service than to a technician and he said techs there speak little english but mostly german he said the good ones anyway. The guy asked me to keep his identity private but he told just call brabus if i didnt beleave him. Someone that has the spare money on this board please test the tranny This guy definitely knows what hes talking about and he showed me his credentials hes offical

I think this is what you was talking about
