Borla 4 Cyl drone

I will be getting the Borla 4 muff setup soon, I know some have had an MDS drone and went back to the stock rear muffs. I would apreciate any comments from those who have the 4 muff setup.

Drone with 4 muff's? There is none, if you have this setup and feel this is drone, go drive a 5 liter Stang with 2 chamber flowmasters. There is no drone with the 4 muffs.

IIKings, just get it, you can thank me later.

I have had the borla 4 muffler system now for about 2 weeks. I love it! If you listen very carefully you will hear a slightly lower pitch when it goes to 4 cylinders. This is by no means a drone or objectionable. During normal driving the exhaust sound is maybe one or two decibels above stock. Wot is when it comes alive, and that's good, cause that's what I want, a dignified 5.7 liter hemi letting its will be known!!!
P.S. Get the volant injection with it, it puts the icing on the cake!!

I have the four muffler system and it works great. You rarely go into 4cyl mode and really can't hear any drone. Have fun and install this puppy already.

Don't do II kings, you will void your warranty and blow up your transmission.

This is like deja vu all over again, I have made some of the same statements about voiding the warranty with performance mods. Interestingly I spoke with the svc. dept today and they tell me it would only void the exhaust warranty and if a dealer said that it would void the tranny warranty to never go back there. Having said that a member PMd me with a scathing report on the Borla with terrible drone in 4cyl mode. Looks like most of you are very happy with it.

Why don't you try to hook up with someone with a Borla-equipped 300C and give it a test drive?

I don't (yet) have a 300C, but my experience with a Borla in a 300M (yes, a completely different car) convinced me that I would never install another Borla without first experiencing first-hand what the results would be. In my 300M, it produced a mind-numbing resonance that only went away at about 85 mph. I contacted Borla and found that this was a known problem. They sent me, free of charge, two inserts that I had tack-welded into my system. This helped a lot, but the system never really worked to my satisfactiion. And, I had to wonder . . . if they knew that the resonance was a problem, why did they continue to sell the system without modifying it to alleviate this issue?

I was truly unimpressed. Again, while I know that there is zero similarity between the 300M and the 300C, my personal experience would dictate that I would not buy a Borla product again without first having a test ride. It was that excruciating. Having said that, the actual construction and finish of the Borla was first-rate.

I had the first Borla system in California for the Hemi (Magnum RT). There is NO drone!

Not a bad idea at all MikeB, thanks for the suggestion. No point in guessing around with $800+ on the table.
