CIS Turbo 4.5psi dyno results

Today we dyno-tuned another CIS Turbo on a Dodge Charger. This run was with 4.5 psi. The first plot is a stock SRT8 against the 5.7 Charger on 4.5psi.

This next plot is a stock 5.7 against a 5.7 with 4.5psi and another 5.7 with 6.5psi, hp only.

Here is the tq from the same run.

I would love to see a centrifugal or twin screw make 480rwtq @ 3300rpm on only 4.5psi and a stock 5.7, it isnt going to happen. These heavy cars need the tq.

The torque curve is obcene looking, and I almost can't bear to look at it. You had me sold about three posts ago. I am going to continue to ask a lot of questions because (a) I am going to buy the kit in the very near future, and (b) this forum needs a knowledge base. Its quiet on the technical side. Like I said before, the price is right. GSM just announced a great looking manifold integrated twin screw unit and Kenne Bell is supposedly building another - however I can guarantee they will not be able to come anywhere near the price range of this unit. That is if you guys continue to price it in the $6k range. There's no touching it.

- Is the turbo unit itself cooled or oiled?

- How difficult is the installation. It seems like its mostly undercar and pulling the rear bumper panel off.

- On another thread, different forum, someone had asked about drainage holes for the inlet pipe. Sounds like a reasonable question, but is it really necessary? You say the car has 20K with the unit installed?

- There isn't a CMR tuner within 800 miles of me, and it makes me sick. I don't want to have to spend money on a vacation to California or Virginia when I could be spending the money on the parts. Therefore, I am hoping you'd be able to work with a remote tuning shop. I have a local tuner whom I entrusted my Vette to. The guy is great. He's got a Mustang dyno and internet access and would be willing to spend a day tuning this thing with someone. I will purchase a Predator. Can we make a remote tune work?

And thanks again for taking the time to answer questions.

All of the Turbos will come with a base tune that will be very close, the Turbo itself is oil cooled. Installation is pretty easy and requires no cutting or welding, it is a true bolt-on kit. Im not so sure on the drain holes, Tim will have to answer that one for you.

We do run a feed and return line front and back. The turbo uses a small collection sump on the bottom for the oil pump to pull from. As far as the air intake, the location of the snorkel tube would put water at the near the top of your rim. If you are that deep, I doubt the car would still be running, but if it were, there would be all kinds of problems like the tranny, water in the interior, in the electronics, etc.. Other words your driving in a flood were one should not be!

Send a message via Yahoo to Alsmag
PPP, this is a lame question as I should just get a calculator...but what do you estimate flywheel horse on the 5.7 with 6.5 psi?

Assuming 18% driveline loss, its about 500hp/600tq.
